The Western Concept is the only student newspaper at Dickinson State University. It is run and managed by students. The Student Publications Board, comprised of students and a non-voting faculty/staff member, is authorized to hire the Editor and the Business Manager who, in turn, are responsible for publications.
The Western Concept makes a comeback this year after a hiatus. Previously, The Concept used to be printed and distributed all over the campus. However, the process involved in getting articles to print drained student resources and, as a result, its popularity lessened. Therefore, the new Concept is designed to be an online publication.
